Smoked Banana Republic Cocktail

Inspired by the classic King Kong cocktail, this spirit-forward serve brings together bourbon, Jamaican rum, and banana liqueur in a richer, more refined expression. A gentle infusion of fruit wood smoke transforms ripe banana into notes of caramel and spice, creating a cocktail that is both familiar and unexpectedly sophisticated.

Cocktail Ingredients

  • 45 ml Bourbon Whiskey
  • 15 ml Jamaican Rum
  • 10 ml Banana Liqueur
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Lemon zest twist
  • Wood chips - Cherry, Apple or Pear

Method

Prepare the vessel
  • Chill an Old Fashioned glass.
  • Place your Sixpence Alchemy smoker on the empty glass
  • Add fruity wood chips and smoke.
  •  Allow the smoke to rest in the glass for 15–20 seconds.

Compose the cocktail

  • Add bourbon, rum, banana liqueur, and bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
  • Stir until chilled and silky smooth.
  • Strain over a large ice cube into the smoked glass.
Finish
  • Express a lemon zest twist over the surface of the cocktail and place as garnish.
